Hey Michel - completely agree with you that these tools play a very valuable role in handling certain concerns; caching being a great example! I used the simple query example (get hummus), as this article (or opinion) is largely around highlighting that fancy GraphQL clients aren’t required for interacting with a GraphQL API - in my work, I often see this fact being misunderstood or overlooked.

I too don’t tools like Apollo being unnecessary! However, in 80% of the projects I’ve seen it and it’s comparables being used in... It’s been unnecessary when talking into consideration the scope and complexity and the project. The other 20%, completely needed!
